Become a Volunteer

 

If you are at least 55 years of age, enjoy the company of children, meet certain income eligibility guidelines and are willing to volunteer a minimum of fifteen hours a week, we want you to apply to become a Foster Grandparent.

  • Foster Grandparents receive a tax-free stipend for their hours of service. This stipend is not considered income for any purpose.
  • Grandparents also receive paid pre-service and monthly training, paid sick and vacation time, in addition to paid holidays.
  • Foster Grandparents also receive transportation reimbursement and supplemental insurance coverage while volunteering.
  • Grandparents are recognized annually for their time, effort and dedication to the children of the community.

Foster Grandparent Job Description: Foster Grandparents are to focus their inherent qualities of kindness, patience, love, acceptance, and wisdom towards improving the lives of children through one-on-one and small group interaction.
